This Is Soho is proud to support our charity partner for the year, The House of St Barnaba , whose vision is to create a society where sustained employment is a reality for those affected by homelessness and social exclusion.
Established in 1846, this innovative charity runs an Employment Academy which is fully integrated with their social business; a not-for-profit private members' club in the heart of Soho. The twelve week employment programme, run from their beautiful Grade I listed Georgian townhouse, helps people back into work by offering personal development, City&Guilds accredited training and work experience throughout the club.
Participants of the programme also benefit from being a part of a community of social change makers; the interested and interesting and continually curious who make up their membership. Each participant is matched with a mentor to support them on their journey into employment for at least one year following the programme, and their Employment Partners open their recruitment process to the graduates, helping the charity to create a fairer London. To date 77% of graduates are in employment.
You can support the work of The House of St Barnabas by joining as a corporate or individual member, by becoming an employment partner, by hiring their historic spaces for your private events, or by making a donation to support their work changing lives.
