Brew Monday 2022

Samaritans ‘Brew Monday’ is to remind everyone to reach out for a cuppa and a catch-up.

In the past, the third Monday of the year has been considered ‘the most difficult day of the year’, but this year (17 January) is different. Samaritans ‘Brew Monday’ is to remind everyone to reach out for a cuppa and a catch-up with the people they care about. How it works: if you’ve got a cuppa in your hand and you’re listening to someone who is in need of a chat, you’re doing it right.

If you are looking for somewhere to catch up over a cuppa in Soho, we have rounded up our favourite cosy spots with the best brews in town. Berwick Street is the ultimate place for a strong frothy coffee and a sweet treat. Stop by coffee connoisseur neighbours My Place Soho or Flat White, and a little further down the street, Söderberg for a Scandi take on brunch. Bar Italia is one of the Soho locals’ favourite spots for a strong espresso and a dose of Italian hospitality. If you’re looking for some hard-hitting ‘fill-your-boots’ breakfast food to accompany your brew, The Breakfast Club is THE place for a full stack of pancakes topped with maple syrup AND bacon. What more could you want?

You can help Samaritans raise money and awareness of Brew Monday and donate online. Every donation goes towards helping to give people somewhere to turn to when they need to talk. Not feeling up to meeting in person? Not to worry, you can still support someone in need on Brew Monday by calling them over the phone or setting up a zoom call. Samaritans have a selection of activities you can download to support on Brew Monday.
