About Coach and Horses
Located in the heart of London’s Theatreland on the corner of Old Compton Street and Charing Cross Road, our Soho pub is the perfect choice for pre-theatre drinks or to take a break while exploring the capital’s cultural attractions.
Why not take a pit-stop after visiting Foyle's flagship iconic book shop, and enjoy an award-winning beer with your book.
Thirsty customers are welcome at The Coach & Horses, able to choose from a wide selection of cask ales and lagers, along with a carefully-selected wine list and traditional spirits.
A public house has existed on the site of No. 2 Old Compton Street since at least 1731 - but it hasn’t always been known by its current name. It was previously located at 17 Little Compton Street before the roads west and east of Greek Street were merged in 1896. The Grade II Listed pub was known as the Coach and Horses until its name was changed in 1996 to Molly Moggs, then to Compton Cross in 2017. After this, in 2019, Britain’s oldest brewer, Shepherd Neame, purchased the pub and its original name of Coach and Horses was restored as part of a major refurbishment programme.
