About HOPPERS
Founded by JKS Restaurants and Karan Gokani, Hoppers opened its first restaurant in Soho in 2015, inspired by the vibrant street food, toddy shops and home-style cooking of Sri Lanka and South India. The menu revolves around the iconic hopper - a bowl shaped fermented rice pancake, alongside dosas, kothu roti, karis, short eats and sambols.
Hoppers Soho quickly became a cult favourite, earning rave reviews from critics like Fay Maschler and the late A.A. Gill. It was awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand within its first year and has remained a firm favourite for its bold flavours, warm hospitality and spirited energy.
Today, the brand has grown to include restaurants in Marylebone and King's Cross, each inspired by different aspects of Sri Lanka’s architecture, design and coastal journeys. Yet, Soho remains the beating heart of Hoppers - a lively spot that welcomes both regulars and new comers with its unique take on island food and culture.
