Kingly Street's waterhole history
Running parallel between Regent Street and Carnaby Street, Kingly Street has long been home to a number of watering holes dating back hundreds of years.
The Red Lion at number 14 is on the site of a tavern dating all the way back to the 1720's! Similarly, The Blue Posts at number 18 has been licensed since 1728, and is still a popular drinking spot to this day. The 1960's saw a new era of music with the iconic live music club and meeting place for musician, The Bag O'Nails at number 9. The club was famously a favourite of The Beatles', and is where Paul McCartney met his future wife Linda Eastman in 1967. Number 9 is now home to The Little Violet Door, continuing the party legacy!
The barber at No.7
Kingly Street has had a long and diverse history, including an abundance of barbershops.
