Berwick Street Calling
The votes are in - find out the winner of Berwick Street Calling here.
Calling all unsigned artists; your time has come. In association with established new music experts NME, we’re giving you the chance to win your single pressed onto vinyl and record your track with a renowned music producer.
Launched alongside Record Store Day on 16 April, Berwick Street Calling is open to all music genres nationwide. NME's new music editor Matt Wilkinson, Primal Scream bassist Simone Butler, Music Director at The House of St Barnabas Sav Remzi and the man behind iconic vinyl retailer, Phil Barton at Sister Ray have formed our judging panel, selecting 10 finalists.
Renowned for being one of the most vibrant areas in London for independent record stores – with Sister Ray, Reckless Records, Sounds of the Universe, Phonica and If Music in the area – Berwick Street has always been a hub for up-and-coming artists. The vinyl rebirth is well and truly underway, and now it’s your time to get a piece of the action.
This isn't just a chance to get your single pressed onto vinyl; we'll be giving the winning artist the opportunity to have 1,000 copies of the vinyl stocked in some of the most iconic independent record shops across Soho.
Plus, the winner will now also get the incredible opportunity of playing at OnBlackheath Festival in partnership with John Lewis. Taking place 10-11 September, OnBlackheath is the ultimate weekend for standout live music with mouth-watering food and drink experiences. Headliners include Primal Scream, Grammy Award winning electronic music maestros Hot Chip, alongside Belle & Sebastian and James, alongside live stages from the likes of NTS and Heavenly Recordings.
