Introducing Hovarda, a new Aegean-inspired bar and restaurant serving cocktails and wines alongside a line-up of live music and international DJs.
Head to the bar for laid-back vibes alongside a drinks menu of re-invented classics and well-known cocktails created by award-winning mixologist Cihan Anadologlu. Martini fans, don't miss the many varieties of Martini inspired by Greece, Turkey, France and Italy such as ‘The Greek’ - made with lemongrass infused Mastiha, grapefruit and olive brine while ‘The Turkish’ includes chili-infused Raki, ginger, lime juice and Turkish honey. On top of the spirits, the wine cellar boasts an expansive range of wines including a list made from Greek grape varietals, and a selection of European vintages.
When it comes to the food, the menu focuses on dishes inspired by the countries surrounding the Aegean Sea with an emphasis on seafood and freshly caught fish from around the British Isles. Highlights include Marinated sea bream, fennel and saffron, Grilled smoked eel, fava, radishes and caper leaves, and Crab borek with lemon sauce. The kleftico, slow roasted Ryeland lamb, lamb-fat potatoes, oregano for two is also a must.
Be sure to leave room for dessert if only for the Metaxa Baba - a playful take on the classic Rum Baba and Lokma, (syrupy deep-fried dough balls) with spiced ice cream, honey and walnuts.
