LGBTQ+ History Month

A celebration of community, diversity and respect, join Soho this February for LGBTQ+ month.

A Lesson in Soho's LGBTQ+ History

London's Soho has long been an epicentre for championing creativity, individualism and pride for the LGBTQ+ community with an array of bars and shops at the heart of the Soho queer scene.

Originating back to secret clubs of the area where LGBTQ+ communities would meet despite risk of prosecution to Soho's history as London's Red Light district. During the 1920s and 30s, Soho bloomed with its thriving club scene unlike any other area of London, with several gay-friendly cafes and clubs lining the streets.

Now centred around Old Compton Street with notable venues such as The Admiral Duncan and G-A-Y bar acting as anchor homes to LGBTQ+ positivity.

Enjoy a night at The Admiral Duncan

undefined54 Old Compton Street

Open since 1832m The Admiral Duncan is an LGBTQ+ institution in the heart of Soho, and at the heart of the Soho gay scene. Home to karaoke, cabaret and drag nights, the venue is the perfect spot for celebrating and a fun night out.

The venue is rich with LGBTQ+ history having been bombed in 1999 as the target of a neo-Nazi bomb attack which killed over 70 people. The pub reopened weeks later, and to this day has a chandelier commemorating those that lost their lives.

London Pride Parade 2026

Pride in London has announced its 2026 date as Saturday 4th July with its famous Pride parade taking to the streets of the West End, welcoming over 1.5 million people.
